2012 Maybach Landaulet Overview

The Landaulet body is based on the chassis and engine of the long-wheelbase, Maybach 62S. Its engine, developed by Mercedes and in-house performance tuner AMG, is a 6.0L twin-turbo V12 incredibly rated at 620 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque that starts at only 2000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The whole package sits on 20-inch alloy wheels.

The steering is speed-sensitive, and the Landaulet features dual-control Airmatic suspension. The bi-xenon headlights have their own cleaning system and the doors and trunk can be closed with the push of a button. Stability control, 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, brake assist, skid control and Parktronic with rear back-up camera are standard, as are a full array of air bags for every passenger.

Two Napa leather interiors are available: Vesuvius black with black or silver piping and Aspen white with black piping. Wood trim can be installed in carbon or poplar anthracite with piano lacquer. A Seychelles white interior and Galaxy Star granite trim are available.

Standard features for the 2012 Landaulet are beyond even the most luxurious options available in other cars. The Bose Surround Sound system has 21 speakers connected to a satellite radio, DVD player, CD changer and the two 9.5-inch screens in the rear compartment. Each screen has its own remote control and headphones. To keep the rear occupants informed, the rear roof lining displays readouts of speed, time and outside temperature. To keep the chauffeur comfortable, the multi-function leather steering wheel automatically moves out of the way to make entering and exiting easier.

All seats are electronically controlled and heated, and the front passenger seat can be adjusted by anyone seated in the rear. The rear seats recline completely and include extendable foot rests, dynamic lumbar support and a back rest. The climate control is 4-zone, so each passenger can set a preferred temperature and fan speed. Should passengers actually have to exit this luxurious leather cocoon on a day of inclement weather, Maybach even includes a Dunhill designer umbrella.

Lastly, Maybach can customize exterior paint and the interior to suit any buyer's needs, since each car is built to order.
