The Golf's always had its performance-oriented big brother, the GTI, around, and occasionally, the all-wheel drive V6-powered Golf R32 has appeared in the US. For 2012, Volkswagen brought their newest high-performance Golf, called simply the "Golf R." It comes with a direct-injected turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder and all-wheel drive system borrowed from the Audi TTS.
