Great Family CarBy Bob O'Brien, Apr 21, 2013This is our first Infiniti purchase and after 6,000 miles, we love this car. Many try to compare it against more sport like cars, and yet it won't handle like an Infiniti EX, G, etc., it really handles nice for a big car. Our vehicle is fully loaded and all the technology is very nice. The interior finish is excellent and for an SUV/Crossover, it is incredibly quiet inside. We are getting a solid 20 mpg city and 24.1 mpg highway. Some people don't like a CVT transmission, but the match up with the 3.5 L engine, this car has plenty of power and is very smooth. With the ability to manually shift, the car handles very well on windy roads. You won't hear the "dreaded drone" like you might in other cars with CVTs. As for the technology, the Blind Spot Warning and Intervention systems are something I won't do without in a future vehicle. Yes, there are a few blind spots due to the design, but with these two features you can drive with confidence. Unlike some vehicles with these features, you get a warning and if you start to stray, you get nudged back into your lane. The Brake Assist took a bit to get used to, but once you've driven a car with it, this feature is something you will come to love in stop and go traffic, and especially nice when merging into traffic, and someone stops in front of you. It is a great safety feature. The smart cruise control is also something that will spoil you. Rather than constantly having to adjust or shut off the cruise control in moderate traffic, the system does the work for you. The Back Up Collision system is something that I would expect to see on all future vehicles. It works fantastic and is one of my favorite features. It has stopped me twice when I without a doubt would have backed into traffic. What is nice about it, is that even with your foot on the brake, if the sensors are going off, it is going to stop you before you can react. We have the Theater package, and although we don't use it much, it works great. If your ever stuck at a cell phone lot at the airport for an extended period of time, you can watch the DVD on the Navigation screen. Speaking of the Navigation system, it is the best I've had on any vehicle. It is tied to Bluetooth technology and the Infiniti Connection, which is a feature that my wife and I have gotten spoiled with. It is so nice to have someone else find your desired location and send it to the Navigation system. there are many other nice features that are associated with the Infiniti Connection that you can read up on if you are interested. And most of all, it is so nice to get a free loaner vehicle when your car is being serviced. Their service departments are very nice, have all kinds of nice snacks and good beverages at no cost to the customer. Overall, I would recommend this vehicle to families, or folks that transport more than four people. The seating is comfortable and flexible. Cargo space, especially when not using the third row seats is spacious. This car will be great for mom, or those that like to carry a few golf clubs. Again, this isn't a sports car, but if you are looking for a luxury car, at an affordable price, you'll be pleased with the JX. ...moreGreat gas milage for its size, smooth and quiet ride, flexible configuration, enough power, lots of current technology.
