Exceded ExpectationBy Ken Parks, Sep 27, 2013I owned my "dream car" for ten years...a 2003 Mustang! But both of us had gained a few miles, and with deteriorating discs in my back, getting in and out was literally a PAIN. A friend suggested I test drive a KIA Soul. That quirky looking thing? But, I didn't even look at any other cars. I test drove one. Getting in and out was SO much easier. The seat and driving height was like that of a mid-size pickup. The power was sufficient for my needs and with the SOUL someone could actually ride in the back seat. I purchased a KIA SOUL + (the mid-range model)in MOLTEN (RED), I love the "SOUL" script motif in the upholstery. I got the sound package, fog lights, sunroof, back-up camera and the Blue Tooth connectivity is wonderful! Their UVO system is easy to use. It took me a few days to get used to everything...typical stuff...switches, suspension (not a sports car), the gas mileage is an added blessing! I love this car! ...moreEntry and exiting, Security with interior and exterior lighting, Unique styling, UVO system, Gas mileage
I miss the sports suspension and handling. These cars are too popular!Trim 2013 Kia Soul 5dr Wgn Man Base

2013 Base KIA Soul First ImpressionsBy George Campbell, Nov 14, 2013We needed a small wagon-style car to replace a car that made its last journey to the junkyard. It had to be under $15,000, have air conditioning, and get decent mileage. Further it needed to be comfortable for my tall frame. After doing web research and checking inventories at local dealers in the Twin Cities, the 2013 Base KIA Soul was actually the only match. A local dealer claimed to have eight cars in stock in the configuration we wanted in a Sunday newspaper ad, so we called on Monday. By the time we got there on Tuesday morning, they had just one left. After a brief test drive, we bought it. The dealership, Barnett KIA in White Bear Lake, MN, made the deal easy, and the military veterans and KIA financing discount made it even more affordable than we expected. Nice folks, there. Both my wife and I like the looks of the car, it performs pretty well for its little 1.6 L. engine, and the 6-speed manual transmission works better than expected. Fit and finish were better than I anticipated, and the ergonomics of the interior and cockpit suit both of us perfectly. My wife really appreciated the cell phone connectivity and had it paired with her phone in a few minutes. We've only driven it around town for a couple of days, but it looks like it's going to be a very, very satisfactory vehicle for us. I'm 66 years old, so I'm not sure I fit the target demographic for this car, but KIA's going to sell a lot of these to the aging hippie generation. Comfy, easy to enter, and economical. An unbeatable combination. ...moreLow Price, Long Warranty, Spacious Interior, Good Ergonomics, Peppy Town Driving Performance. Great looks!
No right-hand armrest for the driver. No big deal. Other than that, nothing to report.Trim 2013 Kia Soul 5dr Wgn Man Base
