2013 MINI Paceman Cooper S ALL4 User Reviews
Unique compactBy Matthew Lewis (I am an Owner), Apr. 22, 2013If you're looking for something different, the Paceman is for you. The interior isn't very spacious, and you really shouldn't try to squeeze anyone of average height in the rear, but the car looks sty... more
2013 MINI Cooper Paceman OverviewThe 2013 MINI Paceman comes in three trims: base, S and John Cooper Works. The base comes with the 1.6L 4-cylinder common across the MINI range. It makes 121 horsepower. The S and John Cooper Works use a turbocharged version of the same engine, but it makes 181 hp in S trim and 215 hp in John Cooper form. So-called "ALL4" all-wheel drive is not available on the base trim and standard on the John Cooper Works.
Typical of MINI's value-conscious image, even the base trim comes fully loaded with standard features: 17-inch alloy wheels, speed-sensitive wipers, remote keyless entry and a cooled glove box are just the beginning. Safety features abound in all MINIs as well: anti-lock brakes and stability control as well as front, side and a passenger knee airbags.
No fewer than 4 optional wheels are available. Leather seat trim, navigation, HID headlamps and park distance control are just some of the offered options.
In addition to the turbocharged engine, the S trim adds fog lamps and a locking differential. The John Cooper Works brings the highest level of MINI performance, with a high-performance rear differential, sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels and special aerodynamic elements to the exterior.
Of course the Paceman also follows MINI's highly customizable program for all its vehicles. An array of stripes is available, as are various roof colors and patterns as well as different headlight housings and tinted turn signals.
2013 MINI Cooper Paceman Model Changes
The Paceman is a new model in the MINI lineup for 2014. It retains all the small-car character of the original MINI Cooper while providing a bit more of the Countryman's practicality. Optional ALL4 all-wheel drive adds appeal.
2013 MINI Cooper Paceman Value
The MINI brand has always been about value, fuel economy and sporty small-car appeal. The Paceman brings all the MINI fun to a (slightly) bigger package. Fuel economy is estimated as good as 41 mpg on the highway. All-wheel drive is available as well for all-weather sure-footedness.
2013 MINI Cooper Paceman Strengths
Great handling; diminutive size; sporty character; cute styling
