Wow!By Joyce, Dec 30, 2013The subdued styling, the stellar economy, the compliments, the comfort... What's not to like? The worst thing is convincing folks that this really is a Volkswagen. The TDI and the overall quality and appearance.
Ours (blacl) tends to attract scratches. Not VW's fault.Trim 2013 Volkswagen Passat 4dr Sdn 2.0L DSG TDI SEL Premium

Very Solid Car with Great MPGBy Brad, Aug 2, 2014I have owned this car now for 5 months / 10,000 miles. I primarily purchased this car for the MPG which it has not disappointed. I travel almost 90 miles per day to work and back and am averaging about 40 MPG traveling @ 75 mph. I would be getting high mpg if i slowed down a bit, most likely 43-44. The only disappointment is the seat comfort, with the seats being quite hard. I got the regular seats that came with the trim I purchased. It was difficult to justify another $3000 for seats even though that also came with other options that did not interest me. Too bad you couldn't just upgrade the seats alone without adding the whole package. Bluetooth is great as i can make multiple cell calls hand free while I am commuting or listen to Pandora, or Youtube. Trunk space is also great. Turbo is very spunky and I can keep up with most other gas powered vehicles even though I am diesel. ...moreMPG, Trunk Space, Bluetooth, Turbo, Overall Reliability

American GermanBy Mike , Dec 30, 2013I have owned many Volkswagen Passats and I knew that Volkswagen had been making VW's right here in Tennessee which made me happy and sad. The sad part is I have always admired the German driving experience and the rumors have been suggesting that the Passat made in Tennessee was a old mans car with a cushiony mattress ride like the Japanese and American name plates. So with 2 older Passats at home one with 140k and one with 169k I took the 140k car to the new VW Dealership in Buford, GA. I didn't need to trade because both of my cars ran like they were brand new but I was interested. I test drove the 2.5 5 cyl engine and it had about the same get up as mine and about the same horsepower as my 1.8T but without the turbo. The 0-60 seemed to be a about the same. Then Vernon my salesman told me to drive it with the tiptronic transmission so I slid the knob over at a red light and WOW !!, THIS IS WHY I DRIVE PASSAT'S. That little 2.5 thought it was a 5.0 and it was incredible. The handling was not quite as tight as the German made Passats but then I am older and maybe it was me that wasn't as tight. The ride is not cushiony but it was not sports car like either it was just right. This Passat has a larger interior than my two older ones and the out side looks great . The dealership gave me a lot of money for my 2002 Passat. So VW did it again made a great just right Passat that sends the Japanese and American car makers back to the drawing board so they can compete. ...morequick, good gas mileage, large interior and quiet ride, good tight steering
