A much improved Escape 4WDBy Daniel Henry, May 14, 2015Traded my 2011 Escape 4WD for the 2014. I am impressed with the "Intelligent" 4WD. It disengages when not needed and eliminates the road whine in the previous model. I traded before I read reviews by a few claiming poor gas mileage, so I naturally was concerned. My concerns were short-lived. I have 29,000 miles on vehicle and average over 26 mpg, mostly city. More importantly I "always" enjoy over 30 mpg on road trips. I recently pulled my golf cart up to the mountains and averaged over 22 mpg and it pulled the weight effortlessly. I don't really care for the sync but I didn't like it much in my F150 either. But, in all honesty, I didn't care for OnStar in my wife's Chevy either. Remember, aggressive drivers are those guys you see weaving in and out of traffic to get a car length jump on the guy net to them and flying up to stop signs and red lights. No, they won't get good gas mileage in any vehicle. ...moreQuiet and efficient 4WD and great gas mileage.

Nice Car...butBy Sandy/Tony, Feb 26, 2015I wish I only would have got a 2 year lease rather than a 3 year. You can bet I will do a pull ahead if one becomes available. This is nice car but too small for my liking. The electronics are very confusing if you are not savy. Took forever to understand the controls on this baby and still dont understand them all. I am here because I was told there is remote start and we cant figure it out so we know in time for winter. The trunk is small, it's just a small car. Gas tank is small therefore you fill up more often. The sound system (Bose) is awsom tho. The ride is decent, just wish a little larger....shoot. ...moreTrim 2014 Ford Escape 4WD 4dr Titanium

2014 Escape Do Not LikeBy robert, Jan 3, 2015I have driven Escapes since 08 from the 3.0V6 AWD - 2011 4cyl FWD - Now have a 2014 FWD with 1.6 EcoBoost The 2011 4cyl FWD is the best conbination for this vehicle. The new 2014 has many items I DO NOT LIKE. NAMELY, Horrible Fuel Mileage. I drive 75% hwy and 20% burban. Seats VERY uncomfortable, drivers compartment VERY COMPACT and dash protrudes into driver area making it uncomfortable on long trips. No rear flip up glass so no option for open/closing rear hatch but the entire back end so cant just toss something in the back - Dumb Ford!!!! Fuel Mileage is 23.5 to 25MAX is my best on the hwy at 70mph or less. Combination driving is 21 to 23 which is ridiculous for a 4cyl compact suv. The 2011 4cyl NON ecoboost gets 27 to 30 on same hwy roads and 25 to 26 in combination driving - The Ecoboost is an ECO JOKE. The 1.6 is anemic and I prefer the straight 4cyl of the 2011. I think the 1.6 is struggling all the time which is why it gets such poor mileage. I work for a major corporation and we have several hundred of the 1.6 eco boost and they ALL are performing poorly and our Fleet Manager is very disgusted with FORD and their FALSE reporting of the fuel mileage of the 1.6 eco boost. The older body style is much better as it sits higher for visibility, has more room inside, is more comfortable to drive, more ergonomiically refined and more eco friendly. ...moreI cant think of a one other than i think it looks more sporty

Really nice carBy Nicholas Chiarillo, Jul 14, 2015Bought this to replace our 2008 Focus (145,000 miles). I wanted more room, but did not want lose the great gas mileage that the Focus delivered. Like the other reviewer, I'm getting 28 mpg. I usually drive 5 - 10 miles per hour over the speed limit and regularly run 85 on the highways. I have the 2.0 engine, putting out 240 HP. Lots of room and very comfortable on long trips. SYNC takes some time to learn. fortunately, my granddaughter understands these high tech things well enough to show how to use most of it. Now I can make phone calls just using voice commands and never take my eyes off the road. ...moreGreat gas milage, roomy, confortable and good performance.Trim 2014 Ford Escape FWD 4dr SE

Love my wife's EscapeBy Chris Anderson, Dec 6, 2014When she lets me, I love to drive her 2014 Escape Titanium 2.0 4WD. She has the new Sunset color w/navigation. I can't say I understand all of the safety and new technology, but I like that is there. I don't understand complaining about fuel mileage, we don't have a 1000 miles yet, I drive crowding the speed limits and use ethanol 10% blend and have seen over 28 MPG. ...moreStyling, handling, 2.0 performance, safety, technology, just plain fun to drive.

Poor gas mileageBy Brandon Jones, Feb 26, 2015Let's make it clear - the Ford Escape's gas mileage is really bad considering all the other car manufacturers out there are pushing highly efficient cars. The Escape looks good and does everything a car needs to do, but it doesn't do it great. The interior feels cheap and is pretty uncomfortable for real long drives, but gives you plenty of room. It's pretty quiet, though the SYNC system is troublesome... it's just not user friendly. it's a nice car, but I wouldn't say it's impressive and I'd be on the fence to recommend it to anyone. Test drive it first and see what you think before you sign on the papers. ...moreSmooth, quiet, roomy
