2013 Hybrid Cars

The automotive world is getting greener and hybrids are no longer boring cars for fringe buyers. Hybrids are now so mainstream that nearly every automaker now has a few in the market. Of course, the Toyota Prius and Prius Prime are still the first hybrids to come to mind, but new for 2017, the totally new Kia Optima Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid are now available, along with the brand-new Kia Niro, the automaker's first dedicated hybrid model that also happens to be a crossover. Hyundai also has a new entry into the hybrid market, the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq, which has promised to get Prius-beating fuel economy. The Ford Fusion Hybrid and Nissan Rogue Hybrid have also been refreshed, the Chevrolet Bolt and Smart EV are finally ready, and the stunning Lexus LC can also come as a hybrid. Even BMW is getting in on the hybrid action with its new line of iPerformance luxury cars that are plug-in hybrids. So far, the BMW X5, 7 Series, 3 Series, 2 Series Active Tourer are available with iPerformance, in addition to the brand's BMW i3 and i8. Audi's e-Tron lineup of plug-in hybrids is expected to grow, and Volkswagen will also be focusing on alternative powertrains going forward.
