2012 Lexus Cars
Toyota’s luxury brand offers models like the RX crossover, the IS sports sedan and dedicated hybrid luxury vehicles like the CT200h and HS250h. Lexus also offers luxury sedans like the ES, GS and LS (both available in hybrid versions) as well as the GX and RX SUVs and the LFA supercar
Lexus was introduced in 1989 as a luxury brand targeted at Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Jaguar. Their first model, the LS400 won critical acclaim, and later expanded to include the Camry-based ES luxury sedan, the GS sports sedan in 1993, the LX luxury SUV (based on the Toyota Land Cruiser) in 1995 and the IS sports sedan in 1999. Lexus has sought to define itself as the leader in luxury hybrid vehicles, with the RX450h, GS450h, LS600h, the HS250h and CT200h. In 2011, the brand launched the LFA supercar, a hand-built flagship that took nearly a decade to develop. The LFA’s Formula 1-inspired V10 engine and heavy use of carbon fiber has helped Lexus break away from its image as a purveyor of reliable but boring luxury cars.
