2012 Maybach Cars

Mercedes-Benz revived the long dormant Maybach brand as an ultra-premium marque designed to compete with Rolls-Royce. Despite not selling cars since 1945, Maybach launched in 2002 with their Maybach 57 and Maybach 62 sedans, based on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and outfitted with turbocharged V12 engines and the finest interiors available.

Since its 2002 launch, Maybach has incrementally updated its offerings, the Maybach 57 and Maybach 62. Sportier models, known as the 57S and 62S became available in 2005, with upgraded chassis and power ratings, while an ultra-limited convertible version, known as the Maybach 62 Landaulet, was introduced in 2007. Prices start at around $345,000 for a base 57 all the way up to over $1 million for a 62 Landaulet. Maybach also produced a one-off coupe called the Exelero, using the basic chassis and a custom built coupe body that is designed to evoke the look of pre-WWII vehicles. Slow sales have put Maybach’s future in jeopardy.
