Paying special tribute to Alfa Romeo’s celebrated sport tradition, Florentine designer Giuliano Mazzuoli unveiled the new Contagiri 8C Competizione watch to great fanfair.

Some people like to have a party when they release a new product. Not Mazzuoli – he had a parade of Alfa Romeo 8Cs go through Florence in honor of the style, sports passion, tradition and technical performance of both the automotive brand and the timepiece.

The result of four years of effort, the Contagiri features a black or argente dial with Arabic numerals. Inspired by the tachometer of the 8C, it comes with a 13.30 mm thick case that measures 44 mm in diameter that comes finished in stainless steel and black diamond-like-carbon (DLC) or 18-karat rose gold and titanium. Relying on “Calibre GM Cambiosequenziale/01 alternance 10” mechanical self-winding movement, this watch boasts accurate precision, and the watch mechanism itself features 29 jewels and comprises 131 individual parts.

Running at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the caliber rand also offers a 42-hour power reserve, and its central hour hand retrogrades after going through an arc of 270°. Water resistant up to 50 meters, the watch stays firmly on the wrist thanks to a smooth rubber strap and comes adorned with an Ardillon buckle in stainless steel or 18K rose gold. Even the box it comes in is decedent – it comes covered in smooth calfskin leather and reptile stamped by master Florentine artisan leather workers. The case back and the watch box come with the same personalization as the automobile with the same limited edition serial number.

There are only a limited run of 500 Giuliano Mazzuoli Contagiri 8C Competizione watches, so don’t wait too long to pick yours up.
