Ford Mustang Boss 302S Track Car Revealed Ahead of Debut at PRI Trade Show
Ahead of a planned debut at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show, specs on a new track-ready Mustang have been released, as have a selection of photos. The new Ford Mustang Boss 302S track car will sit between the new Boss 302 street car and the 302R Grand-Am race car.
While the 302R is designed specifically to meet with Grand-Am specs, the 302S will be open to a wider range of competition series, including many in the SCCA and NASA.
In fact, the photo above is the first such picture of a Boss 302S model, build by Tiger Racing of Covina, CA. Driven by Paul Brown, it will compete in the SCCA World Challenge GTS class.
Specs for the Boss 302S include the Boss 302R engine and factory 6-speed manual transmission with the stock clutch and flywheel. It will be available to order complete with a 6-point roll cage, adjustable suspension, quick-release steering wheel and Recaro seats.
Other items include Brembo brakes, a front splitter, adjustable carbon fiber rear spoiler, an aggressive fiberglass hood with air extractors and 18×9.5-inch wheels.
Ford will offer just 50 versions of this car at a price of $79,000.
