Saab Taps Into the Power of Facebook

Saab has created a Facebook page that allows fans of the Swedish meatball to create their own Saab-related page banners, and some may be chosen by Saab to run on AOL, MSN, the New York Times, and Wired, among other influential websites.

Created by McCann Worldgroup Detroit, “The Story of Saab” is an interactive program on Saab’s Facebook page that gives fans a chance to see their work featured in online as well as print media. The advertising company’s division that worked on this account is called Team Saab, and has also created the launch campaign for the new 9-4X.

“Saab has an incredibly loyal owner and fan base. Over the past year we have heard from fans all over the world and they are so passionate about the cars they love,” said Nicole Jankowski, Saab’s marketing communications manager. “Who better to tell the Story of Saab than the people who make it what it is.”
