Lamborghini Aventador SV Rumored With 800-HP
You’d think Lamborghini, masters of Italian seduction, would have the good sense to tease us a bit. Maybe don’t give us the goods so soon, and all that. But no, it seems like they’re laying it all out there for us: Lamborghini is going to build a range-annihilating SV model of its Aventador, and approximately 3 people on this planet will be caught off-guard by the news.
After all, the Diablo had one, and so did the Murcielago. And with rumors of the Aventador roadster already clogging up Lamborghini PR inboxes, Top Gear’s already jumped the gun and cooked up some renderings, as well as some predictions: based on previous power ranges for the Murcielago and SV models, the future Aventador SV should have around 800 horsepower and sell for about $600,000.
Given that the current Aventador already sports 690 horsepower and a 0-60 time of under 3 seconds, we expect Lamborghini to try even harder with the SV model. Maybe a couple of turbines, bolted to the roof? A Hughes M230 single-barrel 30mm chain gun with high explosive incendiary rounds underneath the hood? An under-seat espresso machine? An Alcantara Snuggie? C’mon Lamborghini, give us something to truly surprise us with.
