At this year’s Bologna Motor Show, both Mercedes-Benz and Ducati displayed machines finished in a striking “Streetfighter Yellow” color scheme, in this case a SLK 55 AMG and 848 Streetfighter.

The idea behind it is to highlight increasing cooperation between both manufacturers and follows on from a similar setup at the 2011 Frankfurt show, where Mercedes showcased a CLS 63 AMG and Ducati a Diavel AMG Special Edition.

Although at this time, the “Streetfighter Yellow” paint scheme for the SLK and contrasting black interior with yellow stitching is purely a one-off, Mercedes says that provided there is favorable response to the show car and sufficient demand, it could be made available as an individual option from the AMG Performance studio.

As for the Ducati 848 Streetfighter, it’s been one of the most well received performance motorcycles in recent years, bowing to favorable reviews at the 2008 EICMA Show in Milan, so much so that it won the award for “Most Beautiful Bike” at the event. Besides the yellow paint and black frame as seen here, the Streetfighter 848 is also available in traditional Red with a red frame and Dark Stealth with a black one.

Besides the cooperation in jointly presenting themed vehicles, the partnership between AMG and Ducati also extends to the MotoGP series where AMG is the “official partner” of the factory Ducati racing team; riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden feature AMG logos prominently on their overalls. In addition, Ducati’s fleet of vehicles are slowly being replaced by Mercedes-Benz models.
