Four-ring performance enthusiasts have been anxiously awaiting Audi‘s next-generation RS4 and finally we have some news to share with a new report that it’ll be coming in wagon form only. Known as the RS4 Avant over in Europe, the five-door wagon has typically outsold sedan counterparts on the Continent, leading to Audi’s decision.

This really isn’t a huge surprise, considering that of the last three generations of RS4s, only the last gen came in sedan form.

The RS4 Avant will reportedly feature a 4.2L V8 from the RS5 with 444-hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. It’ll be mated to a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Other features of the new RS4 Avant include new wave-style brake discs and Audi’s latest version of their quattro four-wheel drive system that’s torque adjustable across the rear-axle.
