Artega Roadster Set for 2012 Geneva Motor Show Debut
German sports car manufacturer Artega will be heading to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show to debut its new Artega Roadster. Powered by the same 3.6L V6 found in the Artega GT Coupe variant, the Artega Roadster will have 300-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.
While specs haven’t yet been detailed on the Roadster – and we should find out more once it debuts at Geneva – the Artega GT Coupe weighs in at 3,330 lbs and is built for a truly exhilarating driving experience. The lightweight aluminum chassis was “specifically attuned to the requirements of the Nordschleife (Nürburgring)” according to Artega. In order to save weight, Artega also employs a generous use of carbon fiber on its rear wings, doors, roof, hood, and trunk.
Currently the GT Coupe also comes equipped with Brembo brakes and lightweight 19-inch wheels, and we expect that the Roadster variant will be similar. Currently the Artega GT Coupe is priced at around $99,000 (€75000), so it’ll be interesting if they can release a sporty, competitive roadster for under $100,000.
