Gumpert, the serious German supercar-maker with the funny name, has confirmed the unveiling of two new vehicles at the upcoming 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Releasing its first teaser last November, we expect to see an official unveiling of the new production version Gumpert Tornante.

As for the second Gumpert, the stylized Discove”R” found on the latest teaser image hints at a special R version of the hardcore Apollo sports car. The current top-of-the-line Apollo S produces 800-hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Rocketing past 60 mph in under three seconds, the Apollo S reaches 223 mph. Assuming the R designation stands for “Race,” the latest Apollo should promise even more speed and violence. Moreover, the ultimate Apollo R would also make a fitting swan song before Gumpert officially releases its next model, the Tornante.

Stay tuned for more Gumpert information as we draw closer to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
