If you think about it, limiting availability of one of the most highly anticipated cars of the 2013 model year is a pretty savvy move, after all it can only serve to keep demand high right?

That’s something Subaru is betting on with the 2013 BRZ, having announced it will only be bringing some 6,000 examples stateside for the 2013 model year, according to news garnered from an unnamed dealer by Car and Driver.

Although Subaru has said the BRZ will sticker at around $25,000 in order to ensure profitability, with initial demand far outweighing supply, expect to see prices go well north of that as concessionaires attempt to capitalize on what few examples they have of the hot new coupe.

Even though the actual US list price has still to be established, dealers are currently taking fully-refundable deposits, with the first deliveries expected to begin in May. So, if you want one, better get your order in as soon as possible.

How does Subaru schedule their production runs? What is the lead time on a car that is ordered from a dealer?
