Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, Infiniti’s high-tech Emerg-e sports car certainly looked fast, and the claimed performance numbers are impressive, but does it live up the hype in the real world?

That’s what the Nissan luxury division aims to prove at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Red Bull F1 racer Mark Webber will pilot the plug-in hybrid up the famous Hillclimb event.

The car itself it powered by dual electric motors and a range-extending 3-cylinder gasoline engine, allowing for a 0-60 time of 4.0 seconds and an electric-only range of 30 miles.

In addition to the Emerg-e, The Infiniti FX ‘Vettel Edition’ SUV will tackle the hillclimb, driven by its namesake, F1 champ Sebastian Vettel, while the M35h (billed as the world’s fastest hybrid) will also take part.
