Toyota 'Road to Le Mans' to Air June 15 on SPEED – Video
With its main rival at the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans being none other than Audi, Toyota is taking a page from the German automaker’s playbook by documenting its preparation for the endurance classic.
Audi has made two films about its recent Le Mans challenges and now Toyota is set to release a similar documentary-style video, which will air on SPEED, June 15th at 10 p.m. Eastern – the night before the big race.
Toyota will be making history with its return to the sport, in particular because it is helping to usher in a new era: that of the hybrid race car. Toyota’s TS-030 hybrids just completed first tests at Le Mans, placing 4th and 5th, with the first three spots belonging to Audi – which just so happens to also be racing with hybrid power this year.
