Hardly media shy, the 2013 SRT Viper has been in and out of headlines since its New York debut, sans stripe paint — until now.

SRT released the photo today that you see above, saying the car just “passed its dry-track stability control testing with flying colors.” This is the first time a photo of the car has surfaced with anything other than a solid color paint job. In New York, it had a candy apple finish, though AutoGuide also spotted one driving in Michigan last month with the same shade of red seen here.

Frankly, the color couldn’t matter less. The new halo car’s raging V10, roaring exhaust and sure-to-be raucous performance are the key points to focus on until it debuts. At that point, people are likely to turn attention to its price, which is still unannounced aside from estimated $110,000 starting price.
