Next Generation Kia Soul Coming in 2014
A redesigned version of the Kia Soul, the brands second best selling car, will be unveiled next year as a 2014 model.
A Kia executive let the information slip during a conference call, but neglected to mention where the car would begin sales. As the brands second best selling model, the next generation Soul has high expectations placed on it. Over 63,000 units have been moved in just the first half of 2012.
Expect the Soul to ride on the same platform as the redesigned Kia Rio, and use either a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that makes 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque, or a larger 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 164 hp and 147 lb-ft or torque.
Stylistically, the Soul is likely to keep its boxy shape based off of the success of the first generation model.
