Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster Tribute to Display at Pebble Beach

German automaker Mercedes-Benz is going to have a presence at this years Pebble Beach weekend with a huge tribute to the SL Roadster, and a display of its Concept Style Coupe.

Three original 1954 300SL’s will be on display as a part of the Concours d’Elegance on August 16, 2012.

The entire heritage of the roadsters will be on display, showing off the progress of the car in terms of design and technology. For the performance-enthusiast crowd, Mercedes will also have a few AMG cars on display including the SLS AMG and C63 AMG Black-Series.

Mercedes points out that the U.S. market will see 17 AMG vehicles with horsepower ratings ranging from 415hp to 621 hp. The automaker will even be setting up test drives of the SL63 AMG during the Quail gathering on August 16 and 17.

The future generation of Mercedes’ will also be on display at Pebble Beach, thanks to the Concept Style Coupe, which is expected to demonstrate the new Mercedes design language and foreshadow the upcoming CLA four-door coupe. The car features a 211-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, and unique headlights with innovative signals.

Mercedes also revealed that several collector cars featuring the three-pointed star will be up on the auction block this weekend.
