Toyota Announces Final 25 Winners of 100 Cars for Good
Toyota has announced the final 25 winners in the 100 Cars for Good program. The program gave away 100 free Toyota vehicles to charitable organizations to assist them in their selfless work.
Over the course of 100 days Toyota posted profiles of charities in groups of five on 100carsforgood.com. Members of the public voted for their favorite organization with the winner of each day winning a free vehicle. They can select a new Tundra, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, Prius V, Sienna, or Sienna Mobility. Any nominations who do not win still get a cash grant for $1,000 from Toyota. In total, the Japanese automaker gave out $400,000 in grants and 100 vehicles.
“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to help these worthwhile organizations broaden their impact in communities all across the nation, and we thank the public for their support in determining the winners,”said Jim Lentz, president and chief executive officer of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A.
The majority of the winners are organizations that improve society through animal welfare, health & safety, education, and services to children, adults as well as people with disabilities. The most popular vehicle chosen, by far, is the Sienna minivan with 54 organizations picking it including 12 mobility models that are built for disabled access.
Four organizations selected the Prius v, while 21 went for the Tundra pickup. Only four groups picked the strong-selling Camry hybrid. The winners were announced in groups of 25, in four batches, and you can see all of them in the list below.
