Going after the big boys in the sports car world, Mini just debuted the Mini JCW GP, the brand’s fastest car yet at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

Arguably the first real sports car from Mini, the JCW GP uses a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that makes 211 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque at 1,750 rpm. The little car proved to be a real rocket while running around the Nurburgring, setting a 8:23 lap time on the North Loop. Only 2000 units will be produced, making the car all the more exclusive and rare.
