Ford Focus-Based Lincoln May Debut at L.A. Auto Show
It’s been a while since we’ve heard rumors of Lincoln’s compact car but it appears that development continues and the production model will be based on the Ford Focus.
The American automaker announced plans last year to overhaul its lineup by 2014, and that has been well on schedule with the new MKS, MKT, and MKX models. But hidden in the shadow has been its compact model, which we saw a preview of back in 2009 with the C Concept. Undoubtedly the styling has changed quite a bit since then, and we expect the production model to be more subdued and resemble more of Lincoln’s latest creations.
This year might be the year that we’ll finally see a glimpse at the future Lincoln compact model, as reports are coming in that the American automaker will be heading to this year’s Los Angeles International Auto Show with it. We’re likely to see a five-door hatchback featuring a fuel efficient four-cylinder with front-wheel drive.
