Volkswagen has announced its lineup of customized vehicles heading to the 2012 SEMA Show, with its Beetle model being the star.

Teaming up with several of the industry’s largest suppliers and customizers, Volkswagen will have a fine collection of its current-generation Beetle model in Las Vegas including the VWvortex ultimate Super Beetle show car (pictured above). The 2013 Beetle Turbo has been transformed thanks to APR to have 500 hp in all-wheel drive form.

Joining the VWvortex Beetle are at least five more: European Car magazine’s ‘Beach Battle-Cruiser’, Galpin Auto Sports ‘Chopped Top’, Rotiform’s Beetle, and FMS Automotive will be on hand with a classic 1956 model and a modern 2012.

While the German automaker clearly wants to celebrate the Beetle as it heads into 2013 for its 75th anniversary, H&R will also be present at this year’s show with a custom Golf R that will be showcasing the company’s suspension modifications.

“Volkswagen has an extensive enthusiast following with products like the Beetle, GTI, Golf R and GLI acting as the platform for some of car culture’s most memorable aftermarket and show car creations,” said Tim Mahoney, executive VP at Volkswagen of America. “As we approach the 75th anniversary of the brand’s most iconic product, it makes sense to honor the Beetle’s heritage together with suppliers and customization partners at the auto industry’s premier aftermarket show.”
