Porsche has announced it will debut its all-new Cayman sports car at the LA Auto Show, alongside the US debut of the 911 Carrera 4.

In fact, Porsche never went quite that far, instead announcing the, “world premiere of a compact sports car”; though the assumption isn’t a hard one to make. In a release the German automaker highlighted its 13 percent increase in sports car sales over the past year in the US, while indicating that this latest addition to the model lineup will help to further grow that number.

While no details have been released on the new Cayman, look for styling similar to the 2013 Boxster, with an interior inspired by the Panamera. Sharing the Boxster platform it will be significantly lighter than its predecessor and is likely to get both a 2.7-liter flat-six engine making around 275 hp, while a Cayman S will receive a 3.4-liter flat-six with around 325 hp.

The world premiere of the new Porsche Cayman will occur on November 28 at 12:05 pm local time.
