Packing 508 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque, the Volvo S60 Polestar Concept looked right at home under the Los Angeles spotlight.

Making its North American debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show, Volvo’s longtime performance partner, Polestar, took the factory S60 3.0-liter, straight-six powerplant and tuned it to impressive figures. All the extra performance comes courtesy of a larger Garrett turbocharger and a fully-built longblock while the stock transmission has been replaced with a stronger, six-speed manual.

With all the extra power under the hood, Polestar turned the S60 into a real street bruiser, widening the body and lowering the sedan to give it an aggressive stance. Braking performance has been enhanced with a set of Brembo brakes while 19-inch wheels look right at home on the widened S60 body.

According to the Swedish automaker, the S60 Polestar Concept hits 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and is rumored to be bound for a limited production run. Don’t hold your breath though, supposedly the client that commissioned the first S60 Polestar paid a hefty $300,000 for it.

Also with the S60 Polestar, was the C30 Polestar Edition seen earlier this year at the 2012 SEMA Show. So enjoy an extra gallery of the Volvo C30 Polestar below.
