2013 Chevrolet Cruze Adds New Airbag Technology
New technology will be at work when driver’s side airbags deploy in the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze.
The system uses a flexible venting technology to deploy the airbag efficiently while offering equal protection to more complex and expensive units. General Motors also says it reduces the risk of inflation-induced injury by allowing the driver’s forward momentum to push the air out and away.

GM will include the new airbags as standard equipment on all 2013 Cruze models. Earlier this year the car also earned a five-star overall rating as it did last year.
General Motors also introduced front-center airbags in the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia that it debuted during the Chicago Auto Show last February.
