Maserati Ghibli Sedan Caught Testing in Spy Shots
Maserati is hard at work on the new Ghibli, a sedan that will fit in underneath the Quattroporte, and our spy photographers just grabbed some shots of the car out testing in the snow.
The photos show a heavily camouflaged test car, which was made to resemble a Quattroporte, but due to its small wheelbase can be identified as the Ghibli. This new sedan is part of a large push from the brand in all segments, and is meant to go head-to-head with the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Underneath the camo and the sheet metal, the Ghibli is likely to sit on a Chrysler 300 chassis, just like the Quattroporte. The base engine is rumored to come from Chrysler as well, and will be the 3.5-liter Pentastar V6 with a turbo unit tacked on, making it good for around 400 hp. A larger Ferrari-sourced V8 is also a likely option. Both engines will be hooked up to a ZF eight-speed transmission.

That V6 better sound like a Maserati. That's all I'm saying.
Maserati is looking more like an audi/ mazda /hyundai. If ghibli is going to look like an audi/mazda I won't buy it. Why does Ramaciotti is designing Maseratis?
