Mercedes CLA45 AMG Slides Across Skid Pad – Video
It’s nothing if not an exciting car — the Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG.
Scheduled to bow next year during the Frankfurt Motor Show as a close competitor to the BMW 135i, Mercedes’ hot little AMG is getting fresh exposure through spy photos and video. The car will be powered by a 2.0-liter four cylinder rumored to make almost 350 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque put to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission.
While the video and spy photos aren’t particularly thrilling by themselves, the fact that this car will be headed for U.S. sale is. Branded as a baby CLS63 AMG, the four-door coupe is expected to reach 60 mph in the five-second range.
Of course, the car will come with AMG wheels, a more aggressive-looking body kit and other performance changes like bigger brakes and a lower suspension.
