For decades luxury car tuning in Japan was exclusively VIP tuning – lowered Japanese sedans with wide, aggressive wheels, and fancy body kits. But recent years, the rise of European vehicles has shifted the luxury and exotic market out in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon has its fair share of VIP Japanese sedans, but the presence of custom European vehicles was overwhelming. Companies like Junction Produce and Fabulous have been known for their styling on Japanese vehicles, but times are changing, and now Bentleys and Porsches adorn those booths.
