Volkswagen CrossBlue Crossover to Offer Gas, Diesel and Plug-in Hybrid Engines
Set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show tomorrow in concept form, Volkswagen CEO Dr. Martin Winterkorn has confirmed its new crossover will be available with a wide range of powertrain options.
Revealing that the car will be named the CrossBlue (at least in concept form), Winterkorn commented that the seven-seater crossover “Brings cutting edge green technology to America,” and will be available in American with both gas and diesel engine options, as well as a plug-in hybrid.
Winterkorn commented that the new three-row utility vehicle was, “developed specifically for US customers,” indicating that it will be priced below the Touareg despite being larger than it, and promised it will, “also be a real eye catcher.”
