Audi A3 E-tron Plug-in Hybrid Delivers 157 MPG
The latest addition to the Audi lineup is based on the brand’s new A3 hatchback and delivers solid performance as well as exceptional fuel economy thanks to a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Under the hood is the brand’s 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 150 hp, while a 75 kW electric motor assists for a total system output of 204 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to a new e-S tronic 6-speed transmission, power makes it to the front wheels to deliver a 7.6 second 0-62 mph time.

Able to be operated on pure gas, pure electricity, or in a dual hybrid mode, it can drive distances of up to 31 miles just on electric power and at speeds of up to 81 mph – with an overall top speed of 138 mph.
Set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in just a few weeks time, Audi says the car hints at the brand’s plans for the future of mobility saying that, “plug-in technology, plays a deciding role in the strategy of the brand.”
