Honda is putting the spotlight on innovation, launching a #HondaInnovator social media campaign by putting the spotlight on six different innovators throughout the month.
The campaign, which uses Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and YouTube, will allow users to tweet questions to several inventors featured in the recent 2013 Civic TV spot. They will also be able to participate in scheduled one-hour innovator tweet chats.
Inventors being spotlighted include James “Macca” Macdonald and the Phoenix Fly, Henry Thorne and the 4moms Origami Stroller, Shane Dorian and the Billabong V1 Wetsuit, Jay Guzowski and the 2013 Honda Civic, Ian Charnas and Drew Ratcliff and the Waterfall Swing, and Prashanth Shantharam and the Laser Keyboard. All of those products were showcase in the new 2013 Honda Civic commercial.
The Japanese automaker has also created an innovation playlist on YouTube that feature innovator-created videos showcased in the Civic TV spot.
“The ‘Innovator Series’ is designed to applaud all visionaries—the dreamers who are always contemplating what could be—and provide an opportunity to engage with them,” said Mike Accavitti, vice president of national marketing operations at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “The 2013 Civic speaks to our passion for innovative thinking and continuous improvement, and through social media we’re inviting all creative thinkers to come together to talk about how to make things better.”
