2014 Corvette Convertible Revealed Prior to Geneva Motor Show Debut

Chevrolet has released two images previewing the all-new Corvette Stingray Convertible, confirming that the great American sports car will make its official debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

Unfortunately, Chevrolet remained quiet regarding details on its Corvette Stingray Convertible, but promised that plenty of information will be revealed once the vehicle makes its unveiling in Switzerland.

Do expect to find a smallblock V8 under the hood with 450 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, mated to either a 6-speed automatic or a new 7-speed manual with an auto-rev-matching feature.

According to Corvette’s chief engineer, Tadge Juechter, “Every Corvette is designed at the outset as an open car.” So it’s no surprise that the Corvette Stingray’s open-top variant will revealed before the coupe counterpart even hits the dealership lots in North America.

The American automaker also announced previously that the first Stingray Convertible will be auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach event to benefit Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Let’s keep in mind that the first-ever Corvette Stingray went for an impressive $1.05 million at the Scottsdale, Arizona Barrett-Jackson auction.
