Although we have seen the i8 many times before, this latest prototype shows off what looks like the headlights and taillights that will be available on the production version of the car. On the back end, you can see that the turn signals have been integrated into the rear wing, another detail that was not seen on the concept version, or other prototypes of the i8.

The i8 is said to weigh about 3,200 lbs. and features a 2+2 seating configuration. Power will come from a 170-hp electric motor combined with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder gas engine that makes 223 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, giving the car a 0-62 mph time of 4.9 seconds. The front axle will be driven by the electric engine, while the rears get their power from the gas unit.
A standard charge will take six hours, while a high-voltage charger can fill up the i8 in less than an hour. Once fully juiced up, the i8 can travel 20 miles in full-electric mode.
The production version of the i8 is expected to debut in 2014.
