One day before it is revealed at the 2013 New York Auto Show, the Subaru WRX Concept has hit the web looking gloriously mean.

The well-respected rally car has taken a backseat to the Subaru lineup in recent years, in terms of popularity and overall styling. Some would say the latest generation is a little too soft, tame, and mild. But this WRX concept is none of that.

In fact, it’s probably the most aggressive that the Japanese automaker has gone with its popular sedan, despite knowing that some details won’t make it to production. Regardless, Subaru is going towards the direction of a much sportier and sleeker WRX for the future, which is truly something WRX enthusiasts have been waiting for.

Even more interesting is the fact that the next-generation WRX could be sporting an electric turbo, and perhaps the yellow neon green accents hint at just that possibility.
