Nissan is issuing a recall for 123,308 Altima sedans from the 2013 model year for a spare tire defect, where the spare tires may be over- or under-inflated.

The Altimas affected by the recall were built from March 21 through March 26 and the cause of the issue was due to a malfunctioning pressure regulator at its Canton, Mississippi plant. The equipment has been since repaired and the Japanese automaker will begin notifying affected owners on May 3. Dealers will inspect the spare tire and adjust the tire pressure for free.

Over- or under-inflated tires can increase the risk of a crash, though no reports of accidents or injuries related to the recall have been reported.
