Alfa Romeo Prototype Named Most Appealing at Concorso Di Eleganza Di Villa D'Este
Based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, the Disco Volante by Touring was named the most appealing prototype at this year’s Concorso di Eleganza di Villa d’Este in the concept cars and prototypes category.
Despite its heavily styled body, the car shares its chassis and engine with the car mentioned above. That means it uses a 4.7-liter V8 and makes 450 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque an can reach 62 mph in 4.2 seconds.
More importantly, the car makes extensive use of carbon fiber and lightweight aluminum materials and requires over 4,000 hours of qualified labor per car to build. This is also the second year in a row that Alfa Romeo won the Design Award for Concept Cars & Prototypes. The 4C was last year’s winner.

admit it guys. the car was awarded not because of its looks, but because its a one off alfa romeo based on a ferrari (or maserati or whatever). even if it looked like a pontiac aztec and they would still give a same award.
