Nissan GT-R Nismo to Bow at Tokyo Motor Show
Nissan has made a commitment to improve its GT-R model every year, but the best has yet to come according to company executive vice-president, Andy Palmer.
As the Japanese automaker ushers in a new era of Nismo performance, Nissan’s flagship coupe will be getting some goods to make it “the fastest GT-R ever” according to Palmer. The GT-R Nismo prototype is currently undergoing testing and Palmer has been fortunate enough to have test driven it in Japan.

The model is expected to be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in November and is currently being developed with input from Nissan’s Nismo race team. The team competes in the Japanese Super GT series so the production GT-R Nismo model will undoubtedly have plenty of race-inspired goods.
“The majority of the exterior changes are aero and downforce related,” said Palmer. “The production car record at the Nurburgring is the gold standard, and we expect to lower that.”
Palmer went on to say that it’ll be the ultimate GT-R to come out of the factory, and it will clearly get a bump in performance compared to the GT-R’s factory 542 hp.
