Hyundai Details 2013 Pikes Peak Race Car – Videos

After setting the record for the fastest ever Pikes Peak elapsed time in 2012, Rhys Millen Racing is looking forward to defending the title this year with the “Extreme” Hyundai Genesis Coupe, also known as the PM580T.

Rhys Millen is calling it “the car of my dreams” and when it’s all said and done, it’ll boast over 900 hp in a body designed, built, and tested with only one goal in mind: A new overall Pikes Peak course record.

Leading to his 2013 attempt, Hyundai and Rhys Millen Racing is releasing a 12-part video series documenting the build of the new race car that will feature “perfect handling, steering, and braking.” A modified frame and body is being developed for the Genesis Coupe along with giving the powerplant a huge upgrade to take on the task.
