Celebrity Cars Hit the Block at LA Auction
Auctions America will be holding its inaugural auction on August 1-3 in Burbank, Calif. and will feature more than 400 qualify collector cars with over half of them offered with no reserve.
Headlining the auction is a 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster that was purchased by actor Desi Arnaz as a gift for Robert Stack after Stack won his Emmy Award for his role in The Untouchables. The car, which remains almost entirely original will be offered for sale to the public for the first time in more than 50 years.
Other vehicles heading to the auction include a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, a newly-restored 1974 Ferrari 246 GTS Dino, and a 1974 Mercedes 600 LWB Pullman Limousine.
The auction will be held at the Los Angeles Burbank Airport Hotel and coverage of the event will occur on the NBC Sports Network.
“Auctions America’s dedicated presence in Southern California has allowed our experienced team of specialists to handpick European cars for the sale in response to local client demand,” says Shelby Myers, car specialist, Auctions America.
