Ford Tops Mid-Year US Buzz Rankings: YouGov

Ford has jumped to the top of the U.S. Buzz Rankings, a mid-year brand index rankings of America’s best perceived brands.

Ford has recently come under fire, having to admit that its hybrids aren’t living up to their MPG claims and having a class action lawsuit filed against it for the MyFord Touch infotainment system. But good news is, survey respondents for YouGov drove Ford up the Buzz list from its sixth-place spot in 2012 to the top spot for 2013. Even more remarkable is the fact that Ford is the only automaker on the top 10 list.

Last year, Ford was rated the best perceived automaker by YouGov, so perhaps it’s not a huge surprise that the brand jumped to the top of the brand index for 2013, beating the likes of Amazon, Subway, History, Lowe’s, V8, Walgreens, YouTube, Kindle and Cheerios.

Ford posted its highest-earning quarter in more than a decade this year while increasing its market share from 15.2 percent in 2012 to 15.9 percent in 2013.
