The all-new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray's provocative exterior styling is as functional as it is elegant; every line, vent, inlet and surface has been optimized to enhance the car's overall performance.

Chevrolet will likely unveil the hardcore version of its new C7 Corvette and Corvette C7.R race car at an upcoming auto show.

The tip comes by way of a source connected to Jalopnik, who said the cars will be unveiled during an upcoming auto show. Chevrolet spokesman Monte Doran declined to comment, but said “obviously the Stingray is not the last thing we’re going to offer from Corvette.”

Last January, the C7 debuted on the eve of the Detroit Auto Show and it’s hard to imagine a more appropriate place for the car’s more potent cousin to be unveiled.

As the base car, Chevy’s sports car makes 460 hp from its 6.2-liter LT1 V8. This is the first application of the brand’s newly designed small block. In April, the automaker officially announced the car’s $51,995 starting price.
