Ford Mustang Countdown Videos Celebrate Car's History
The Ford Mustang is turning 50 next year in April, and being one of the world’s most iconic sports cars, the American automaker is counting down its milestone birthday with a new series of videos titled Ford Mustang Countdown.
The first video takes a look at where the sports car all started with the Mustang 1 Concept which debuted in the early 1960s in America. As the American automaker puts it, American was changing at the time with “new music, new movies, and new young drivers looking for a different kind of ride.”
As for the first Mustang project, it was internally codenamed “Allegro” since many of the engineers working on the concept were musicians. And to keep the project completely under wraps, musical terms were used as code. Even though the Mustang 1 two-seater concept never made it to production, many of its design cues have become part of the Mustang’s heritage.
Watch the first episode of Ford Mustang Countdown below, and new stories will appear each week starring Mustang fans from all around the world.
