The extreme Lamborghini Veneno, which debuted earlier this year at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, will be getting a convertible variant in an extremely limited production run the automaker has revealed.

In an exclusive interview with Car and Driver, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed that a roadster variant based on the Veneno will see a limited production run of nine units and each will cost around $4.4 million, 10 percent more than the coupe that only saw a production run of three units.

Powering the Veneno Roadster, as it will officially be called, is the same powerplant found in the Aventador. It was also mentioned that the Veneno Roadster might never been shown to the public, at least not by Lamborghini, making it even more exclusive.
