Last 2014 Shelby GT500 Convertible to Hit Auction Block
The last 2014 Shelby GT500 Convertible will be auctioned by Ford, with the proceeds going to the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA).
The car will be sold with no reserve at the “Hot August Nights” auction presented by Barrett-Jackson. Celebrating America’s love affair with cars and rock and roll, Hot August Nights is an annual event that takes place August 2 through 11 in Reno, Nev.
Indy 500 winner Parnelli Jones will also sign the car, as a thank you from BIAA. Jones got involved with BIAA when his son suffered severe brain trauma in a Sprint Car race.
“I’d like to thank Ford for assisting the Brain Injury Association of America by donating the Shelby to the Barrett-Jackson auction,” said Parnelli Jones. “Certainly this is a cause that’s been overlooked and we hope others can benefit from the charity’s work and learn through my son, Page’s, experience.”
The highest bidder will not only be treated to the 2014 GT500 Convertible, they will also get the opportunity to customize the car’s interior, exterior and stripe color combination.
